Human connection matters. We relish the moments that affirm our identity and values, discover new perspectives, bring us joy, and offer hope in our lives. In spousal relationships, we need both to see and be seen.

Beyond the question of “effective communication” exists the possibility of deep, lasting connection. To be “disconnected,” whether in marriage, other relationships, or individually, is painful and contrary to human flourishing. The wounds and traumas people suffer stand to be either healed by strong attachment bonds with others, or worsened under the staggering weight of disconnection.

Trained in research-validated Emotionally-Focused Therapy, (EFT) Mario works with couples, individuals and families to invite healing, peace and enduring attachment—to stabilize and strengthen couples’ bonds, as well as to care for individuals in their wounds and longings.

As a committed Christian, Mario offers a faith-based perspective for interested clients. Mario also works on a secular basis for clients who desire a secular approach to therapy.

Mario Uribe stands in his office with a gray blazer, a blue shirt, and gray pants to welcome people to his practice.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Mario Uribe’s training and experience uniquely qualify him to work with couples. Additionally, he works with individual adult clients.

EFT

Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) provides a research-validated, attachment-based approach to counseling that emphasizes human connection. In building secure, lasting bonds in marriage and other relationships, couples and individuals can heal from wounds of disconnection in pursuit of lasting love.

Adult ADHD / Neurodiversity

Counseling for individuals affected by ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence provides a supportive space to better understand how your brain works, creates strategies that fit your unique strengths, and builds self-confidence while embracing what makes you authentically you.

Faith-Based Option

Mario recognizes that for some people, faith integration can be an essential aspect of therapy. Accordingly, for interested clients, he offers opportunities for faith-based and spiritually informed counseling, to include an ecumenical openness to working with fellow Christians of varying traditions. Such an approach allows for a non-pastoral approach to faith integration.

Mario seeks to always respect the various and unique faith traditions of those he works with. He strives to “meet people where they are” whether working with fellow Christians, people of other faith traditions, or with clients who prefer to work in a secular (non-religious) modality.
